John Rich Biography
John Rich was born on January 7, 1974, in Amarillo, Texas, where he spent his childhood. His mother’s name is Judy Overton Rich, and his father’s name is Jim, who used to be a Baptist preacher. He moved to Nashville after graduating high school, where he began his music career. He used to work here at Opryland USA, a seasonal amusement park in Nashville.
Growing up, John never imagined himself in music because all he wanted to be was a professional team roper. While in Nashville, he met and joined “Texasee,” a country music group later rebranded as Lonestar. His professional music career took off when he was hired as the band’s lead bass guitarist.
