Patrice Bergeron began his career playing at Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments in 1998. Later, he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2001 QMJHL Draft in 2001 and played hickey for Séminaire St-François Blizzard.
After that, Patrice Bergeron joined Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He played for the team in the 2001-2002, and 2002-2003 seasons.
In the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 45th overall. In the playoffs he has secured 112 GP, 32 G, 55 A, 86 points, and 70 PIM and he has had 1028 GP, 321 G, 492 A, 813 points, and 396 PIM in the regular season.
