Robert Pattinson isn’t one to follow the trends, go with the flow or even make choices that seem all that understandable to the rest of the world. However, this is the guy who publicly admitted to having absolutely no driver’s license yet drives around in his secondhand pickup truck through Los Angeles on a regular basis, so we aren’t sure why his new haircut is surprising to anyone. The best we can do is assume he hasn’t seen the back yet and his hairstylist is laughing like crazy or that he lost a sad, sad bet.

The Twilight actor has debuted a new hairstyle that’s all but attractive. It’s a bowl cut that’s gone so wrong. The back is completely shaved, the sides and top completely untouched, and he has a bit of a landing strip along the back. It’s pretty bad. At the age of 28, he should know better than to play with scissors, but that’s exactly what his head looks like at the moment.

His unfortunate new style was first noticed on Thursday when he attended a gala in Beverly Hills. The style is sort of a cross between the crew cut, the bowl cut and the landing strip people ask for when they’re having their unmentionables waxed. Perhaps he went to the wrong kind of salon for this particular cut?

No matter what, there has got to be an explanation for this. Without the landing strip, it could be assumed that someone used the wrong setting on the razor. With the landing strip, it looks like R.Patz lost a pretty bad bet. Of course, he is an actor so this could be something he’s sporting for a new role, and has no choice in the matter. Hopefully, this unfortunate cut will either grow out quickly or it will go away just as quickly as it appeared.
