The below article contains spoilers on Episode 5 and 6 of FBoy Island Australia.
We’ve had Watergate, Nipplegate and this week we are introduced to Nuggetgate.
Dear viewers, you will be in disbelief too when you watch this week’s double episode of FBoy Island Australia – BINGE’s much-talked about reality dating series where three women try to find their match among a sea of 24 self-confessed FBoys and Nice Guys.
It has long been said that the key to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Well as it turns out, the same goes for women, according to controversial contestant Darcy.
He is among the remaining men in the dating competition vying for the affections of Molly O’Halloran, 26, Sophie Blackley, 26, and Ziara Rae, 21.
This week, Darcy throws a man-tantrum (or man-trum, if you will) after his attempts to win Ziara over with chicken nuggets don’t go to plan.
If you think not much can overshadow the sight of a grown man throwing his nuggets away in a hissy fit, you probably didn’t watch both episodes.
Because so much more goes down, including one contestant who reveals he is an FBoy ...

Tantrum over nuggets
Who knew the line “Do you want fries with that?” could trigger a dummy spit from a grown-up? Oh, but it did.
Since the show premiered three weeks ago, Darcy has let his fellow contestants know that he only has eyes for Ziara. And this week, he pulls out the stops – or perhaps, more accurately, put in an Uber Eats order – to win her heart.
So a plate of chicken nuggets arrives at the villa and Darcy makes a beeline for Ziara for some one-on-one time with a side of cliché. Yep, he asks the typical dating Q: “What’s your five-year plan?”
But their deep-and-meaningful over a bowl of fried delights is interrupted by Cory, who actually offers up a side you can eat.
“Do you want fries with that?” Cory – who is also crushing on Ziara – jokes as he edges between the two.
Soon enough, the other men in the villa flock to Ziara and Darcy’s table and start helping themselves to the fast food, like the seagulls did on Finding Nemo, causing a pissed-off Darcy to throw the nuggets onto the grass.
“You can’t chucky a tanty over your nuggets,” Molly says from across the villa as she watches Nuggetgate unfold.
In a confessional, Ziara calls Darcy “bratty and immature” – and we see no lie.
“F**king selfish and rude and he really showed me who he is,” she says of Darcy, who the next day is nicknamed “Chicken Nugget Bandit” and “French Fry” by some of the contestants. Needless to say, he is among those eliminated from the villa.
Host Abbie Chatfield later debriefs with the ladies and wonders if Darcy wasn’t “out of character” but rather “in character”? Hmm, food for thought...
Busted on social media
When Abbie isn’t running her FBoy Deprogramming School in “Limbro” (the makeshift camp FBoys are sent to reform), she’s hosting games in the villa.
This week, it’s called, “If You Show Me Yours, I’ll Show You Mine.” Talent, of course.
The boys each take their turn rapping (Izaya), singing (Nick) and stripping (Justin).
Caleb also follows Justin’s lead by stripping down to his pineapple-print speedos while blowing a whistle along with his every trust. A talented gentleman, that Caleb.
Unfortunately, it’s a firm no from us and Abbie, who happily gongs them all off the stage, except Izaya. Although he’s no Eminem, he does lose himself in his rap about Ziara and wins the talent quest.
However, the real show-and-tell comes when Abbie gives the girls a laptop and free reign to stalk their suitors’ social media profiles.
The girls discover that Clay has a girlfriend, Cory is hiding his budding career as an actor, and Sean has been on another reality show.
Name a better detective than a woman who has dirt to dig.
An FBoy comes clean
With their FBI Board – aka FBoy Investigation Board – hidden from view, the women invite three men over to their mansion for a party.
Sophie asks Justin over, Ziara welcomes Izaya, and Molly pairs up with intruder Vernon.
Molly and Vernon waste no time sneaking away from the group into Molly’s room where she shows him photos of her family and he shows her his true colours.
During an intimate exchange, Vernon tells Molly his true status, despite it being against the show’s rules.
“Holy sh*t, this bloke knows what he’s doing,” she says in a confessional. “The man has skills, but then he tells me something that 100 per cent does not turn me on.”
Yep, Vernon confirms he’s an FBoy to “reassure” Molly that she can trust him. He says he regrets going on the show because he never thought he’d find someone like her.
“I promise you, I f**king regret it,” he says of coming on the island as an FBoy. “I’m only telling you that because I like you. If I didn’t like you, I would play the sh*t out of you.”
While Molly appears to forgive him – they even share a cheeky kiss behind a penis-print cushion at the mixer the next day – Vernon’s actions have a ripple effect on the house.
More Coverage
Once Abbie hears of the impromptu status reveal, she says the playing field must now be even and all the men have to reveal if they are an FBoy or Nice Guy.
Of course, the episode ends and we’re all left hanging off the side of a cliff – Sylvester Stallone style. Is it next week yet?
FBoy Island is now streaming on BINGE.
