8 McDonald's discontinued menu items that you will miss the most

McDonald's is the world's biggest food chain featuring iconic products such as the Big Mac and the Chicken McNugget.

Everyone has a favourite product they love to enjoy under those golden arches.

But we have all experienced the heartbreak of seeing our favourites discontinued through the years.

You know what they say - it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

Breakfast Snack Wraps

Variations of the breakfast wrap snack wraps were part of the cheaper savers menu and only available in the UK. In January 2018 these were removed from the menu and replaced with the new cheesy bacon flatbread.

Smarties McFlurry

McDonald's launched the iconic McFlurry ice creams in 1998 and brought out the Smarties version in the UK.

The popular item was taken off the menu in 2015 and made way for limited edition Oreos McFlurry to become a staple product.

Cheese Bites

In February 2018, cheese bites were removed from the menu to make way for limited edition Mozzarella sticks which are regularly introduced throughout the year.

The Big Breakfast

The UK edition of a US favourite was removed from the menu in 2016 and faced massive backlash from fans.

The meal was made up of hash brown, scrambled egg, sausage patty and toasted muffin - with a choice of adding pancakes.

The Honeycomb Frappe

The Honeycomb Iced Frappe was launched as part of the 'Great Tastes of Summer' menu in 2016 and became one of McDonald's most popular drinks.

The indulgent frappe featured honeycomb, chunks of chocolate, cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

It was removed from the menu in 2016, before making a brief appearance as a limited edition item. Fingers crossed for summer 2018.

The McRib

The McRib was a fan favourite that was removed from the UK menu several years ago. It featured a pork patty slathered in barbecue sauce, topped with onions and pickles in a hoagie style bun.

The burger made a popular reappearance in 2014 for five weeks as a limited edition product. It is still available in the US.

The Arch Deluxe

The Arch Deluxe was launched in 1996 and featured two beef burgers, peppered bacon, lettuce, tomato, American cheese, onions, ketchup and a 'secret' mustard and mayonnaise sauce.

The Angus Burger

The Angus burger was introduced to the menu worldwide and was considered a 'fancier' burger than the staples available on the menu.

Despite numerous versions created for worldwide consumers, this was discontinued in 2013.
